Q&A
Turning a hobby and passion into something that means more.
Q. & A. with Emily
Why did you start breeding?
I’m a lifelong dog lover, grooming tech & veterinary technician. I became passionate about furthering this breed after observing poor breeding practices and the undue suffering it caused. My heart’s passion is exhibited in each of the healthy, high quality puppies produced under my care and program.
What makes your program special?
Our dogs are active family members in our home. I perform ENS (early neurological stimulation) ESI (early scent introduction), worm biweekly, and ensure first vaccinations are administered by our veterinarian. I feed premium foods and ensure developmental milestones are obtained. No amount of effort or expense is spared in our efforts to produce quality, healthy dogs for companion & show.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are primarily miniature <11lbs per the breed standard. Some are considered small standards which are typically <15lbs. Sizes vary depending on the parent dogs and genetics.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include smooth and longhaired varieties.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include piebald, red, brindle, black and tan, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and cream, and dapple. We only produce color/pattern per the AKC breed standard.
Combining patterns like dapple and piebald is not considered ethical, as it prioritizes color—and often a higher price tag—over the true purpose of responsible breeding: preserving and improving the breed. At the core of our program is a commitment to pairing each family with a dog based on temperament, structure, and compatibility—foundational qualities that truly matter for long-term success. While color can be a consideration, it should always come second to health, conformation, and overall well-being.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
Our puppies are raised right in our home as part of the family, not in kennels or separate buildings. From birth, they’re surrounded by everyday household sights, sounds, and interactions to help them grow into well-adjusted, confident companions. We follow ethical breeding practices focused on health, temperament, and the long-term well-being of each puppy. Every litter is planned with intention, and each pup is loved, socialized, and cared for every step of the way.
